- The US National Science Foundation has a major initiative, Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) to provide funding for faculty to support undergraduate student research. Learn more about the program here.
- Many US National Labs also run summer internship programs, many of them associated with research.
- A list of current available summer research opportunities for students with skills and interests in industrial and systems engineering, mathematical optimization, data science / Machine Learning can be found here.
