I am a Ph.D. candidate in the ISE Department at Lehigh University, working with Professor Lawrence Snyder and Martin Takac. I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran. My research interests are broadly in the areas of Reinforcement Learning (RL), Deep Learning and their applications in real-world problems. Currently, the mainstream of RL research uses games and robotics simulators for verification of the performance of an algorithm. In contrast, my main endeavor is to bridge the gap between the developed methods with their real-world applications, which are studied less often. During my Ph.D. years, my goal has been to pursue this dream by using state-of-the-art knowledge in Machine Learning and making them compatible with Supply Chain, Transportation, Marketing and other problems.

I am currently working, as an intern, with SAS Institute on developing Reinforcement Learning packages for real-world applications in Marketing.
