Who I am

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Lehigh University. I  received my Ph.D. degree from the University of California in San Diego in 2007, and spent time as a postdoctoral research at Oxford University in the U.K. as well as Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. I grew up in the small town of Hurleyville, New York, which is about 2 hours outside of New York City.

What I do

I work in the research area of Optimization.  More precisely, I work in Computational Optimization because I design, analyze, and implement algorithms for solving optimization problems. This is an exciting time in my field because many modern applications in engineering, machine learning, and data science rely on optimization tools. I have been particularly interested in applications in Computer Vision.
